In my last post I had a few small oil paintings I finished in last 6 month. Here is a good example how a small painting idea can be revisited in larger and more detailed painting.
“Frosty Day”, Oil on canvas 12”x16” Original painting is available for sale.

I like to paint the small paintings before I move on a bigger scale. It gives me some sense of color pallet and composition for the future paintings, but some ideas just simply look great in a small size. These 5 mini oil paintings are done on 6”x6” wrapped canvases with painted edges. Each painting is available for sale for $150. Mini Oil painting -1
Mini Oil painting -2
Mini Oil painting -3 (Misty Morning Field - The bigger painting is in progress)
Mini Oil painting -4
Mini Oil painting -5 (Frosty trees - The bigger painting is in progress)

I am a Russian artist living in Maine, I graduated from art school in Russia over 20 years ago. I have loved to paint and draw for as long as I can remember. My works are in different mediums and I like to create series (I call them collections) of small paintings or drawings that are connected by a common subject or theme. You can see more of my art at: www.varvaraharmon.com.
