Optical illusion on canvas.

“Lilies Duet” oil painting on canvas 20”x20” is my firs painting I did in Trompe l'oeil technique. This was one of my long term projects that took me two years to finish, but it was very interesting one to work on and I am happy with the result.
Trompe l'oeil, (French for 'deceive the eye') is an art technique involving extremely realistic imagery in order to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects appear in three dimensions.

Varvara, this is soooo beautiful. And, it's nice to meet another Maine artist. I became an artist after moving to Maine about 8 yrs. ago and I am self-taught. Hope you'll stop by my blog to visit. I will be following yours. Enjoy your evening.
